Adult autism evaluations for people who were missed earlier in life.
You may have spent years feeling that ordinary demands take more effort than other people realize. A neurodiversity-affirming online evaluation gives you a structured way to ask whether an autism diagnosis fits lifelong differences in social communication, sensory experience, routines, and masking.
The old explanations
For years it went by other names: shyness, anxiety, being too sensitive.
You may be here because
You hold it together in public. You may be paying a price nobody sees.
You can hold conversations, make eye contact, and keep a job, a relationship, a family. What sometimes gets missed is how exhausting and nonstop the internal effort can be.
The eye contact and the small talk
You make the eye contact and carry the small talk. Then you need the rest of the day to recover from it.
Answers that never quite fit
Anxiety, depression, being highly sensitive. Each explanation helped a little and never explained the whole pattern.
A world that is simply louder
Bright lights, certain textures, overlapping conversations. Things other people filter out arrive at full volume, all day.
When the effort stops being possible
A new job, a loss, or becoming a parent removes your recovery time, and the effort that was always there suddenly shows.
You may have already taken free tests, read the threads, and recognized yourself in other people's stories. Those can take you partway. Many of the adults I evaluate are high-masking, especially women and people who were missed earlier in life. An evaluation gives us a structured way to look at the whole picture.
How the evaluation works
A structured look at the whole pattern of your life.
The goal is clear feedback you can use, whether the answer is straightforward or more complicated.
An evaluation looks less at one isolated trait and more at the pattern across your life: developmental history, sensory and social differences, internal experience, coping strategies, and masking. I would not assume the answer before we start. We would look at the evidence together, across two to five online sessions at $325 per session.
Start with what brought you here
We begin with what made you wonder, what you hope to understand, and how you may use the information.
Look at the fuller picture
We discuss your developmental history, sensory and social experiences, current patterns, and other explanations that may matter.
Talk through what the evaluation shows
I explain what I am seeing in plain language, including where the picture is clear and where it is more complicated.
Decide whether you need a written report
You can add an optional written report for $950, with findings, recommendations, and next steps. Confirm a third party's requirements before relying on it.
What may become clearer
What an answer can change.
Some people want an answer that helps them make sense of the past. Others need something practical, such as clearer support at work or home. Both can matter.
Years of shame can look different
An answer may help you understand years of confusion, burnout, and self-criticism with more accuracy and less blame.
What to ask for gets clearer
Understanding your sensory and social pattern can make accommodations more concrete at work, at home, and in relationships.
Support gets specific
Autism-informed therapy, sensory and executive-functioning support, or burnout-focused work. The right next step depends on what we find.
The wondering becomes clearer
Whether the answer is autism, something else, or more than one thing, you leave with clear feedback about what the evidence supports and what to consider next.
An evaluation does not guarantee an autism diagnosis, and I will not assume the answer before we begin. You will get clear feedback about what I find, including where the picture is straightforward and where it is more complicated.
A good place to begin
An evaluation may fit where you are.
- You want validation and understanding about why you experience the world the way you do.
- You have wondered for years, and self-tests keep telling you only part of the story.
- You are a high-masking adult, and the usual checklists never quite described you.
- You want recommendations you can act on, with a written report if you need one.
- You want honesty about what an evaluation can and cannot give you before you spend a dollar.
I do not provide neuropsychological testing. If you need an evaluation for government disability services, neuropsychological testing may be necessary, and I will tell you before we begin. My report may support accommodation requests with an employer, school, or other program. Requirements vary, so confirm what the receiving organization needs before relying on it.
A place to start on your own
Am I autistic? A therapist's framework for figuring it out.
I made a self-paced course for the sorting-it-out stage: masking and social compensation, sensory overwhelm, autistic burnout, executive functioning, and how autism differs from ADHD, trauma, and anxiety. It is educational rather than diagnostic, and many people use it while deciding whether an evaluation is the right next step.

Questions you may have.
How much does an adult autism evaluation cost?
Each session is $325, and most evaluations take two to five sessions. An optional written report is $950. Evaluations are self-pay, and you can use an HSA or FSA card at the time of service.
Can I do the evaluation without the written report?
Yes. We can go over the findings and recommended next steps together in the final session. The report is worth adding when you need written findings to share, and I will be straight with you about whether it would help your situation.
Are the free online autism tests accurate?
A self-test can be a useful prompt, and it tells you part of the story. A professional evaluation weighs the whole pattern: developmental history, sensory and social experiences, masking, and the other explanations that may fit what you are noticing.
I have masked my whole life. Can an evaluation still see me?
Yes. Masking is part of what I assess, and high-masking adults, especially women, are a core part of my practice. We look at the effort behind the appearance and what it costs you, along with what shows on the surface.
What if I do not know how to answer a question?
That is fine, and it happens in most evaluations. I will help you understand what a question is getting at, and you can take the time you need to process. Uncertainty is information too.
Can I use the results for disability services?
My report may support some accommodation requests, but each employer, school, program, or agency sets its own requirements. Government disability services may require neuropsychological testing, which I do not provide. Confirm what the receiving organization needs before relying on my report.
Will the evaluation tell me whether I am autistic?
The goal is to assess whether autism fits the full pattern of your history and current experience. If the evidence supports an autism diagnosis, I will explain that clearly. If it points elsewhere or the picture is mixed, we will talk through that with the same care.
What happens when I book?
Your first evaluation session is $325. We start with what made you wonder and what you hope to understand, and I give you clear feedback in plain language as we go.
